As a Scot you cannot pronounce any of our words accurately at all. This video is absolute nonsense and actually quite offensive to the Scots and their languages

I'm American and I watch Steph on utube and she has a Yorkshire accent. I notice that she doesn't pronounce many of her t's especially when there are two together like "better". It sounds like be uh.

im from the midwest. southern mom but northern dad. i finally have the term for why i pronounce my l's in the middle of words "weird." i dont have that light l on words like "older" like most the people around me. i have no idea why, but it mustve been because of all the different pronunciations of words around me. i love this sort of stuff.

I grew up and graduated from University in Canada. My foreign friends told me whenever I pronounce “r”(rhotic?) is not usual that I didn’t beware at all. We do not use “Uni” the short term of University here. The city Toronto should be pronounced like “Tru-ron-to” or “Tru-rono.

As a Turkish fellow, i studied English online mostly. It helped a lot to improve my pronunciation skills. I change my entertainment habits on the net as well. So when I open UA-cam, i mostly watch the native speakers even just for fun. When I was in middle school and high school, teachers were mostly focusing on grammar rules. They don't have a good accent. Some of them speak in American accent, some of them broken English or just flat Turkish accent. They didn't teach the differences of sound and letter. Our alphabet system is so easy. Letter=sound mostly. So it's hard to keep in mind so many combinations of sounds in most of the languages. I struggle when learning Russian. Even it has a little of them😅English has a lot

interesting view point. But us filipinos know or somehow know the correct pronunciation of english words but we chose not to sound like native english speakers because it sounds feminine. The heavy accent is more related to how we filipinos dont want to sound try hards. If you speak the right pronunciation, your peers usually laugh at you. But now its different as US cultural impact has exploded in our country, filipino english is improving in terms of pronunciation

This is actually horrific. I came across this video because I was looking for the correct terminology for a certain variation of a consonant, only to find the most ill-informed and borderline racist video. the pronounciations you are using e.g. "shinging izh natooral todo" are NOT "Indian English" (which in itself is a paradoxical statement since there are dozens of different kinds of accents in the country depending on which region you're in), it is an APU ACCENT. Apu from the Simpsons is NOT representative of subcontinental or Indian culture. This is absolutely shameful and I hope you will consider learning from your propagation of harmful Orientalist tropes.

I think I can tell the difference- I'm really comparing it to a Perth accent, but I think Sydney would sound *more* similar. But you might be surprised by what brought me here: "The Bad Batch" (Star Wars cartoon) features main characters with either an Australian accent (male characters only, really) or an NZ one (including arguably *the* most central character!)

Im sorry, but as a South African, I have to be honest that the way you present the accent is problematic on several levels and is not representative or even accurate. But thanks for trying. Some of the native English South Africans in the comments have made similar observations. There is also a significant difference between native English speakers in the North in Johannesburg (like Rosebank, Sandton) and in the South in Cape Town and East like Port Elisabeth and in Durban in Natal. Also, Francois Pienaar and some of the others you have mentioned represent different accents. Native Afrikaans speakers like Francois Pienaar, with prolonged exposure to native English speakers who went to private English schools is also different from native English spoken by less affluent areas e.g. from Boksburg. I wanted to use your video to teach my son who grew up in Belgium the South African accent, but had to stop the video because it is unfortunately significantly misleading. I propose that you revise this video for accuracy and avoid misrepresentation and inaccuracy.

The most important thing is that we will mumble a lot. An example would be saying 'Now then' to someone as a version of 'Hello'. But because we do it so much, we don't put loads of emphasis on it. So it can end up being misunderstood.
